Tonight the "Idol Gives Back" episode of American Idol aired. John and I Tivo the show and even vote every week, but it is awesome to take a break from the contest and watch celebrities and everyday America show a little bit of love and compassion for others.
My musical heroes - Ann and Nancy Wilson - have once again proven that they are the most talented women in rock-n-roll. I literally jumped up off of the couch when Nancy started playing the intro to "Barracuda." Fergie was pretty good, too, but I kinda got creeped out when she started getting all snuggly with Nancy Wilson - and what was up with the cartwheels????
I also loved Carrie Underwood's performance of "Praying for Time," which is one of my favorite George Michael songs. That girl could sing the phone book and it would be amazing!
I was floored when the 8 finalists busted out with "Shout to the Lord" at the end of the night. There is so much about it that I could wonder about, but for now, I am just really blown away that the song was performed at all, much less on the biggest night of Idol next to the finale.
On a more serious note, am I the only person who wants to move to Africa tomorrow and just pour out God's love on those people?? Our church is taking a missions trip to Africa with Brackenhurst Ministries over the summer and I am dying to go. I just pray that all of the money that is raised tonight actually gets to the people that need it most.

didn't you know that cartwheels are the next big thing in entertainment? I didn't see it, but that's all they were talking about on Way FM this morning. Pretty cool!
